Armand Van Helden has been off the scene for a wee while and now returns with a sexy number ‘Hear My Name’ through Southern Fried Recordings. The vocals are quite striking. They are provided by ‘Spalding Rockwell’, a girl duo Armand discovered in New York. They definitely have a sultry undertone. Their soft delivery with oozing female sexuality creates an ambience of jaw grinding potential. The track is house meets electro-punk. A bouncy, groovy beat mixed with

the usual house flair, and is given its sassiness by the vocals. It doesn’t strike me as being too original and not punky enough to give it a dangerous edge. Yet it does have all the style and porn value to make it a decent enough house track.
