Toronto's own Stars have gained considerable critical acclaim with their unique take on pop noir, and their latest single will see them continue to impress.

As its name suggests, The Night Starts Here is a palpably dark track, with doomy synths and ominous guitar noises at the forefront. What sets Stars apart from other doom-merchants though, is their unavoidable pop sensibilities and Amy Millan's honeyed vocals that imply a chink in their bleak armour.

The Night Starts Here is a good starting point for any newcomers to this truly exciting band.
