Whenever I hear a high-pitched vocal shattering crystal and china all around me, my immediate reaction is to recommend said individual for either a role in the opera or worse still, The Darkness.

Okay, so maybe that last statement was a tad unfair but there’s something a tad over-pretentious, yet distinctly underwhelming about ‘Assembly’ that doesn’t make me want to investigate its creators any further, which is a crying shame as I’m sure Wild Beasts have much more to offer than what is basically a novelty record dressed head-to-toe in high pomp and very little else.

Disappointing.
