Sugardaddy - State Of Play Single Review

State Of Play
Single Review
The product of Groove Armada's Tom Findlay and solo artist Tim Hutton, Sugardaddy's State Of Play falls somewhere between 80's influenced pop and a contemporary dance chart hit. Think along the lines of a modern day Erasure and you're probably well on your way. Consisting of synth stabs, a 4/4 beat and catchy chorus, State of Play is fun single that despite its glaringly simplistic measures is a good example of pop done well.
This release also comes with three dancefloor-based remixes, and whilst two of those cuts flirt a little too close to the original for comfort, it's the Greg Wilson mix that probably provides the most alternative option.
