Juliette & the Licks - You’re Speaking My Language - Album Review
You’re Speaking My Language Pleasantly, brilliantly and fantastically surprised I am truly convinced by this cross over from screen idol to rock goddess.
Launching the album with its title track, you are met with a disarming quality rock track, supported with Lewis on vocals, who does a damn fine job… just makes you think why didn’t she do it sooner?
The Licks are a sharp, tight band and by no means carry Lewis on her rock star whim. This band has worked hard at its musicality and you really can hear it.

Juliette & the Licks have produced a sound not too far from Hole in general but with a softer more eerie sound the would be more comparable to The White Stripes, perhaps.
‘You’re Speaking My Language’ has it softer and more thoughtful tracks including ‘This I know’ which is brilliantly led by Lewis’ dramatic and often sweet vocal.
On the whole this is a winner, there really isn’t a bad track on here and Lewis has completed her mission successfully… more than can be said for Stefan Dennis….
8/10
