16 May 2005 Lucky enough to have one of the UK’s female music icons-in-the-making as a singer, The Duke Spirit have finally released their long-awaited debut album, that is inevitably centred around the suavely dark voice of Liela Moss. Opener ‘Cuts Across The Land’ (that was also one of their first singles) is the perfect taster for what the listener can expect in the coming tracks. Enraged lyrics, guitar effects resembling at times Ennio Moricone’s film soundtracks, accompanied by the madly shaking of Liela’s tambourine and marked by her distintive voice. Early
