Prince Fatty - Survival Of The Fattest Album Review

Survival Of The Fattest
Album Review
I hadn't listened to Prince Fatty before and it was truly refreshing to hear 'Survival Of The Fattest'. It really captures the sounds of roots dub, reggae, lovers rock and ska. It has all the flavours of old skool dub with horns, great rhythm musicianship and excellent use of keys and guitar. All the lyrics are in the spirit of good reggae and there are no bad tracks on this album. 'Milk And Honey' shows some great vocals by Hollie Cook and this track has a real jazz feel to it.
This is a class album as it puts a modern vibe on reggae and still holds true to the essence of dub. It would put a smile on the face of a traditionalist and embrace the young enthusiast. It's got such a positive feel to it you'll want to keep playing it again and due to the complexity of the sound I doubt you'll tire of it. Definitely a good purchase.
