Gary Gray with Funky Blues
Beautiful Evil
Album Review

A fine collection of eleven smooth, slinky tracks that scream to be listened to on a faux leather couch whilst drinking a latte and reading the Sunday papers. There are plenty of relaxed, meandering jazz vocals, with sparkling backups and some funky saxophone, bass and Rhodes piano. Beautiful Evil is way beyond the mainstream, as it darts from Santana-esque guitars to smoke filled New York bars. But it's sure to find support from lovers of bluesy, soulful funk and quality musicianship.
