Tarantino Tells Cannes: Piracy Is Ok

Maverick director QUENTIN TARANTINO shocked movie bosses at the CANNES FILM FESTIVAL - by claiming pirate copies of films are not always a bad thing during an anti-piracy conference.
The [Kill Bill](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/kill-bill) filmmaker - who is jury president at the prestigious French event - is pleased his 1994 classic [Pulp Fiction](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/pulp-fiction) is available as a bootleg in China, because otherwise citizens in the communist country would never get to see the film.
Speaking on Tuesday (11MAY04), the day before the event officially opened, Tarantino told a surprised audience, "I would be a liar if I was to say, across the board, no piracy."
