Timberlake Has Throat Operation

LATEST: Pop hunk [Justin Timberlake](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/justin-timberlake) underwent surgery on his throat yesterday (05MAY05) to remove nodules which threatened to destroy his singing career.

Timberlake allegedly discovered the condition while recording his latest single SIGNS with rapper [Snoop Dogg](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/snoop-dogg) and immediately contacted doctors, who banned him from straining his voice until medics at Los Angeles' Cedars Sinai Hospital had dealt with the problem.

The CRY ME A RIVER star reportedly had the operation yesterday morning and is expected to stay in hospital overnight.

A close friend tells British newspaper [The Sun](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/the-sun), "Assuming the routine procedure goes to plan he will be home resting up for the weekend. He will not be able to sing or talk loudly for a while.

"He'll rest up before heading into the studio. He couldn't risk recording without having the operation first."

Timberlake joins a list of stars including [Geri Halliwell](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/geri-horner), [Rod Stewart](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/rod-stewart), DAME [Julie Andrews](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/julie-andrews) and [Joss Stone](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/joss-stone) who have had operations to remove throat nodules.
