Rapper [Kanye West](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/kanye-west) is mining a new source for inspiration on his forthcoming album - because he wants it to sound like Scottish rockers [Franz Ferdinand](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/franz-ferdinand).

West is readying upcoming disc [Late Registration](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/late-registration) for release and has been paying close attention to the TAKE ME OUT stars' drum sound.

He says, "They're my favourite band. There's a bit of their feel to my new album. I told them I really liked how grimy their drums were and I was asking all types of questions about their sound."

And it seems the feeling is mutual.

Franz Ferdinand singer ALEX KAPRANOS says, "We've been talking a lot about production and we really feel the most cutting-edge stuff is being done in the world of hip-hop right now - Kanye West's a good example."
