Coldplay And Gorillaz Top Mtv Europe Nominations

[Coldplay](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/coldplay), [Gorillaz](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/gorillaz), [Green Day](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/green-day) and [Gwen Stefani](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/gwen-stefani) are leading the nominations at this year's (05) MTV Europe Music Awards.

The YELLOW hitmakers, fronted by [Chris Martin](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/chris-martin), are up for five gongs, including Best Group, Best Song for SPEED OF SOUND, Best Album for X+Y, Best Rock and Best UK And Ireland Act, at the 3 November (05) bash in Lisbon, Portugal.

[Damon Albarn](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/damon-albarn)'s cartoon group are fighting for Best Song and Best Video for [Feel Good Inc](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/feel-good-inc), Best Group and Best UK And Ireland Act, while punk trio Green Day have received nods in four categories, including Best Album for AMERICAN IDIOT, Best Group, Best Pop and Best Rock.

American beauty GWEN STEFANI is also up for four accolades - Best Album for LOVE MUSIC ANGEL BABY, Best Video for WHAT YOU WAITING FOR?, Best Female and Best Pop.

The audience on the night will be entertained with performances by Coldplay, [Foo Fighters](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/foo-fighters), Green Day, [Robbie Williams](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/robbie-williams) and THE [Black Eyed Peas](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/black-eyed-peas), while the show will be hosted by ALI G comedian [Sacha Baron Cohen](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/sacha-baron-cohen)'s Kazakhstani alter ego [Borat](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/borat) SAGDIYEV.
