Tomlin Leads Dove Nominations

Singer [Chris Tomlin](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/chris-tomlin) is leading the nominations at this year's (06) Dove Awards, with nine nods at the forthcoming Christian music ceremony.

Tomlin has been nominated for Artist Of The Year and Male Vocalist Of Year at the Gospel Music Association's annual awards, which will take place at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee, on 5 April (06).

Following close behind, bands [Relient K](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/relient-k) and the [David Crowder Band](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/david-crowder-band) and singers [Natalie Grant](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/natalie-grant) and [Joy Williams](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/joy-williams) have six nods each.

Meanwhile, [Switchfoot](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/switchfoot), [Jeremy Camp](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/jeremy-camp), [Casting Crowns](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/casting-crowns), [Crabb Family](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/crabb-family), [Barlowgirl](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/barlowgirl), [Third Day](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/third-day) and [Israel Houghton](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/israel-houghton) are up in five categories each.

Last year's (05) [American Idol](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/american-idol) winner [Carrie Underwood](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/carrie-underwood) has received a Dove nomination for her song [Jesus Takes The Wheel](https://contactmusic.6lgx.com/jesus-takes-the-wheel).
