Ferguson's Brief Romance Ends

British royal Sarah Ferguson, DUCHESS OF YORK has ended her brief acquaintance with American insurance officer Mark Freitas, after discovering he had been arrested for domestic abuse. The flame-haired ex-wife of PRINCE ANDREW enjoyed a recent dinner date with Freitas, 47, but was stunned by a New York Post article on Wednesday (15MAR06) which reported his controversial past. On 11 December (05), Freitas was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, third-degree criminal mischief and the third-degree assault of his ex-girlfriend in her Greenwich, Connecticut home. He was also arrested in January 2002 for domestic battery of another ex-girlfriend Darrah Lee Gleason in Palm Beach, Florida. Ferguson's spokesman tells PageSix.com, "She went out with him once and she is not going to date him again."
