American Idol Contestant Hospitalised

American Idol producers were left scrambling to stage the singing contest on Tuesday (02Mar10) after one contestant was hospitalised.
Crystal Bowersox, who is reportedly a diabetic, checked into a Los Angeles hospital on Tuesday (02Mar10) - just hours before she was due to perform as one of 10 female semi-finalists in the hit TV show.
The remaining male contestants were subsequently forced to sing for judges a day earlier than scheduled as Fox network bosses made last-minute changes to accommodate Bowersox.
The 24-year-old mum-of-one is expected to return to the female line-up when American Idol next airs in the U.S. on Wednesday (03Mar10).
